Cargill Plant Conversion Nears Completion

Posted July 12th, 2016

Cargill will officially reopen the company’s converted Columbus, Neb., plant this fall, spokesman Mike Martin confirmed to Meatingplace.

The $111 million project, previously announced in September 2015, converted the facility into a cooked meats operation. Previously, the plant produced ground beef.
Cargill moved that ground beef production to plants in Butler, Wis., and Fort Worth, Texas.
