Rapid Construction: Gleeson constructed a 120,000 SF freezer and dock addition in just eight months. Demolition started in May, the building was watertight by July and the product was inside the building in November. The building structure consisted of structural steel and insulated metal panel walls. Gleeson put together a team that worked towards the fast-track completion goal and came in on target with the operation date.
Facility Highlights: Highlights of the 19,000-pallet facility include a 22-pallet deep by 7-pallet high system. The roof structure was assembled in bays and the overhead sprinkler piping was placed on the ground and lifted into place. A lighting conduit was installed in the roof deck to decrease the time required before the floors could be poured and racks installed.
