High-Rise Distribution Center Build

Seamless Integration: This distribution center is located south of the existing processing plant on a greenfield site. The build included a high-rise cooler, an automated storage and retrieval system, and a 700-ton VRT freezer. We also incorporated an 800-foot conveyor bridge to efficiently transport products from two points in the existing plant to the new distribution center. Fresh pork is frozen, stored, and shipped via new truck and rail docks.
Smart Refrigeration: With the facility near residential areas, ammonia use is confined to the engine room, so CO2 was implemented as the primary refrigerant.
Overcoming Challenges: Despite flooding and extreme weather, Gleeson consistently met JBS’s deadlines.
