Seamless Integration: Gleeson constructed a 50,000 SF, two-story addition for JBS at their existing pork processing facility in Worthington, MN. The addition was constructed in an area surrounded on three sides by the existing building and included building the 2nd floor on top of an existing one-story building. The addition was constructed mostly of precast with two small ancillary structural steel buildings. A carcass cooler for approximately 6,000 heads with a beamless system is located on the 2nd floor, and a combo cooler, dock, and battery charge area on the 1st floor.
Precise Planning: The project included relocating an active battery charge room that contained 53 battery chargers and six fire sprinkler risers.
Resilient Partners: Gleeson worked through extreme winter conditions and the COVID pandemic to complete this project on time.
