Distribution Center

Advance Food Company selected Gleeson to design and construct their new distribution center in Enid, Oklahoma, and Gleeson completed the project on time and under budget.

The distribution center is refrigerated using a computer controlled, single stage -20°F ammonia system for the -10°F warehouse and a single stage +20°F system for the 35°F dock. A penthouse units were used to enclose the evaporators and provide easy access for maintenance. A swing compressor was provided to back up either system.

The storage freezer provides 5 levels of storage in flow-thru and select racks to accommodate Advance Food's various products. A total of 8,410 pallet positions are available in the freezer. The 35° dock area is 70' in depth to provide efficient staging for shipping and receiving product. All of the floors in the dock and freezer were finished with a dry shake hardener which provided a denser surface with increased abrasion and impact resistance while enhancing the flatness of the floor. This resulted in a durable floor well suited for high stack forklift traffic.

Gleeson was invited back in 2001 to add 3,318 pallet positions in a 33,000 square foot -10°F warehouse and associated dock expansion. The 2005 addition added 76,443 square feet of -10°F warehouse and additional dock. Total additional storage amounted to 9,370 pallet positions. Total storage capacity now stands at 21,098 pallets in various storage configurations.
